GAITHERSBURG, Md. – A 17-year-old with an outstanding warrant was arrested in Rockville last week after police found him in possession of a loaded handgun and 250 suspected fentanyl pills.
The arrest occurred on Friday, November 8, at approximately 1:30 p.m., when officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police’s 4th District Special Assignment Team spotted the teen in the 5500 block of Besley Court. The warrant stemmed from his failure to appear in court.
When officers approached, the teenager attempted to flee and was seen trying to draw a loaded Glock 17 from his waistband. Officers quickly apprehended him, securing the firearm before he could use it.
During a search, officers discovered the teen was carrying 250 blue “M30” pills, suspected to be fentanyl, along with an undisclosed amount of cash.
He was taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he was charged with possession of a firearm and drugs with intent to distribute. He remains in custody.
