Teen fatally shot in Southwest D.C. apartment




Washington, D.C. Local authorities launched a homicide investigation after a 19-year-old male was discovered dead inside a Southwest D.C. apartment on Wednesday night.

Nadir McCoy, of Northwest Washington, D.C., was found unconscious and suffering from gunshot wounds inside an apartment unit when police arrived at the scene of the shooting, which was reported at approximately 6:31 p.m. in the 200 block of I Street.

After arriving on the scene, D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services concluded that McCoy was not showing any signs of life. At the scene, he was declared dead.

Police are asking anyone with information to come forward, although they have not yet named any suspects or reasons in relation to the deadly shooting.

For information that results in the arrest and conviction of the criminals, a reward of up to $25,000 is being given.
