Teen surrenders to Columbus police in fatal shooting of 19-year-old

Columbus, Ohio According to police, a 17-year-old who was wanted in relation to the shooting death of a young woman in Columbus has surrendered.

On November 27, Dionte Carey turned himself in to the Columbus Division of Police. For the shooting death of 19-year-old Taarah Griffin-Carmichael in the 200 block of Highview Landing on November 18, he was wanted on murder charges.

After the shooting, Griffin-Carmichael was declared dead, and the department’s Homicide Unit is still investigating the incident.

Additional information on Carey’s alleged involvement and the incident’s circumstances has not been released by the police.
