Tennessee Winter Storm Alert: Heavy Snow Expected Near MS Border from Tuesday to Wednesday

Memphis, Tennessee For regions north of the Mississippi-Tennessee border, a Winter Storm Watch has been issued. From Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday, there will likely be heavy snowfall and dangerous driving conditions.

Memphis’ National Weather Service reports that snowfall totals might surpass three inches in certain locations, with the biggest accumulations probably occurring between Tuesday night and early Wednesday. Cities like Memphis, Covington, Jackson, and Blytheville are among those affected, and there is a good chance that travel will be hampered by snow-covered roads and poor visibility.

Forecasters advise locals to avoid traveling unless absolutely necessary due to the long commutes and hazardous driving conditions. It is anticipated that the storm may cause ice roads and potential disruptions for businesses and schools.

In the event of a power loss, officials advise keeping an eye on weather reports, making sure cars are winter-ready, and assembling emergency supplies. Before leaving, travelers are advised to check the state of the roads.
