Texas Authorities Busted Human Smuggling Attempt; Driver from Mississippi Arrested for Smuggling 17 Illegal Immigrants

Texas Department of Public Safety Lieutenant Chris Olivarez took to social media on Thursday to announce the arrest. He said that in Kinney County, the suspect was spotted driving a “cloned” Lowe’s work truck.

Megel Cezanne Patterson, a 28-year-old resident of Jackson, has been named as the suspect. Human smuggling resulting in serious bodily harm is one of the charges against him.

17 undocumented immigrants were discovered in a concealed compartment within the vehicle. There were thirteen males and four females, according to Olivarez.
