New Jersey’s Marlboro.According to local police, traffic signals are fully operating across Marlboro Township, but two roads are still closed after a storm passed through the area Thursday night.
The Marlboro Township Police Department stated on social media that Robertsville Road between Palomino Way and Cross Ridge Circle and Boundary Road between Berkley Road and the Aquatic Center remained blocked as of Saturday am due to storm-related impacts.
According to the police update sent Saturday morning, all of the Township’s traffic signals are operational.
Police emphasized that homeowners who would like information regarding the restoration of electric power should get in touch with Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L), even though vehicle access is restricted in some places. According to the department, our dispatchers do not possess this information.
Strong winds and a lot of rain caused sporadic power outages and fallen trees throughout the area Thursday night, which led to the road closures.
Electric updates remain with utility company
Although cleanup and repair work is still ongoing, authorities have not given a timeline for when the shuttered roadways will reopen. Since the police department does not have access to power restoration timeframes, town authorities have instructed people to check JCP&L for updates.
Although most places usually reopen within days once debris and utility issues are cleared, Marlboro Township has seen several road closures during previous storm storms.
According to police information as of right now, there have been no reports of injuries or emergency situations related to the storm on Thursday.
Police are still keeping an eye on the affected locations and will likely provide more updates if circumstances develop.
As the township recovers from Thursday’s storm, two roadways are still closed.
