New Jersey’s Tinton Falls. The Borough of Tinton Falls Police Department said that a section of Shafto Road will be blocked the next week in order to make room for a significant water main infrastructure project.
The New Jersey American Water Company will be leading the construction of the closure of the northbound lanes of Shafto Road at Wayside Road South beginning Monday, December 9 at 7 a.m. The shutdown is expected to last until Friday, December 13 at 5 p.m.
Officers will be positioned along the route to assist with managing traffic flow, and detours will reroute drivers to utilize Wayside Road southbound to Hope Road northbound. Authorities are alerting motorists of the possibility of severe traffic jams and delays in the region.
According to a statement from the police department, drivers are strongly encouraged to make appropriate travel plans or, if at all possible, stay away from the area entirely.
The installation of a 30-inch water main is a component of a continuous project to improve the region’s water infrastructure.
Drivers in Tinton Falls may experience delays as a result of the five-day closure of the northbound lanes on Shafto Road.
