Look for a giant Google has released their rankings of the most popular searches in the United States for 2024. Not surprisingly, the top three items on major lists were the presidential election, the Olympics, and extreme weather.
Thanks to Kamala Harris, who placed highly under both general searches and people during her campaign for the U.S. presidency, the Bay Area was well-represented in the polls. Athletes (San Francisco 49ers standout Brandon Aiyuk) and films (Pixar’s Inside Out 2, which ranked first on the list) were other search terms with strong local connections.
Sports-related Google searches in the Bay Area included the Los Angeles Dodgers vs. New York Yankees World Series and Copa Amrica.
