Traffic stop in Brooklyn Park leads to weapons and drug arrest




Park, Brooklyn, Md.A Baltimore man was arrested Monday afternoon after police found a weapon and suspected drugs in his car during a traffic stop in Brooklyn Park, according to authorities.

At at 12:05 p.m., detectives from the Northern District pulled up a silver Acura TL at the intersection of Ritchie Highway and Tenth Avenue. Officers found a 9mm Taurus semiautomatic handgun and about 14.24 grams of suspected cocaine during the search.

The driver, identified as Baltimore resident Darrell Marquis Parker, 30, was arrested and charged with several drug and firearm-related felonies.

Authorities have stated that the arrest was a part of continuing efforts to reduce illicit guns and narcotics activities in the area, but they have not provided any other details about the circumstances of the traffic stop.

While the inquiry is ongoing, Parker is still awaiting judicial actions.
