Traffic stop in Georgetown leads to felony drug charges for Seaford man

Georgetown, DEA Following a car stop near Georgetown that turned up drugs, paraphernalia, and suspected drug proceeds, Delaware State Police said a 22-year-old man from Seaford was taken into custody Sunday afternoon.

On December 1, at around 12:32 p.m., a patrol trooper saw a Dodge Dart drive by another car on the right on Seashore Highway close to Wilson Hill Road. When the car was hauled over, it was discovered that the driver, Enrique Azuara, had outstanding arrest warrants for Capias and a suspended driver’s license.

Troopers searched the car and found plastic containers, $1,976 in suspected drug proceeds, 3.06 grams of cocaine, 4.50 grams of methamphetamines, half of an Oxycodone pill, and a broken scale that was reportedly smashed by Azuara during the stop.

Azuara was charged with several felony narcotics counts after being apprehended without incident and sent to Troop 5. He was sent to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $5,802 secured bond after being arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 3.
