An Indiana man has been charged with murder after he allegedly shot and killed his co-worker following a disagreement. It was reported by police that Lenell Jenkins, 22, and Lupe McGee Jr., 20, had gotten off of work early Wednesday when the two got into a spat in the parking lot of the Camaco manufacturing plant in Portage, Indiana.
According to police, McGee whipped out a gun and shot his colleague.
According to CBS affiliate WBBM-TV, Witnesses at the scene later told police that there was nothing about the conversation to warn them that anything bad would happen — until gunshots rang out. Police stated that Jenkins leaves behind a pregnant fiancée and his mother.
Speaking with the outlet, the man’s mother revealed that she had been planning a baby shower for the couple. “I had all plans on planning a baby shower, not my son’s goddamn funeral. No,” said Jenkins’ mother. “That is not the plan that I had.”
The outlet stated that she had been at work when she was informed of her son’s death. “My plan was to do a baby shower, not bury my son before his child got here. That is not what I had planned.” WBBM-TV also spoke with Jekins’ fiancée who stated that she had heard from her partner after he had finished his shift at 3:30 am.
“He never stopped talking ever,” she said. “Five minutes before I got the call that he passed away, he texted me, ‘Everything’s normal. I’m getting ready to go to the car now. I’m getting ready to be on my way home.'” However, Jenkins never made it home.

The victim’s mother condemned McGee’s actions. “You ain’t God. You’re not God. You was just a punk that put a gun in your hand. You was a coward,” she said. According to the outlet, Jenkins’ fiance is now wondering how she is going to take care of the child. “I have to navigate trying to handle that,” she said.
Police reported that they arrested McGee six hours after the shooting while at his home. He is currently being held without bond. It is also unknown when he will return to court. The shooting comes after a Michigan father was arrested for fatally shooting his wife and dumping her body in the garbage while their child was inside the house.
Jacob Fisher, 38, was arraigned Tuesday after being charged with murder after he allegedly killed his wife Dainara,29, on Monday around 5:30 pm. Police were reportedly summoned to a home in the 1200 block of Stover Road in Arenac Township when Fisher called 911 and admitted to the murder.
Fisher then admitted that he had dragged his wife’s body to their driveway and dumped her in a garbage bin. When police later inspected the bin, they found the young adult with a single gunshot wound to the head. Investigators later reported the five children had been present in the home when the shooting had occurred.
