Truck fire blocks lanes on New Jersey Turnpike near George Washington Bridge

New Jersey’s Englewood.Traffic was hampered Wednesday morning just south of Exit 72, close to the George Washington Bridge, due to a truck fire on the northbound local lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike/I-95.

The incident started about 9:24 a.m., and as of 10:12 a.m., two of the four northbound local lanes are still blocked, according to the New Jersey Turnpike Authority.

Traffic en route to the main bridge crossing into New York was impacted by the Englewood fire. There are emergency personnel present.

Until the lanes reopen, drivers are urged to anticipate delays and think about taking detours.
