Trump Lawyer Says He Will Put New York AG’s “Fat A–” in Jail

Trump lawyer targets New York attorney general with inflammatory remarks, threats of prison

NEW YORK — Mike Davis, an attorney and vocal supporter of former President Donald J. Trump, made inflammatory statements targeting New York Attorney General Letitia James, threatening to “put [her] in prison” in response to her ongoing civil lawsuit against Trump and his business. Davis’s remarks, which included a personal insult, have drawn criticism and raised concerns about escalating rhetoric surrounding Trump’s legal battles.

“I dare you to try to continue your lawfare against President Trump,” Davis said in a public statement, addressing James directly. “Sweetheart, we’re not messing around this time.” Davis did not specify any legal grounds on which he believes he could bring criminal charges against James, who is pursuing a $250 million civil case accusing Trump and the Trump Organization of inflating the value of assets to secure favorable loans and insurance rates.

James, a Democrat who has served as New York’s attorney general since 2019, initiated the lawsuit as part of her office’s investigation into Trump’s business practices. Her case seeks to bar Trump and his children from holding executive roles in New York and to impose significant financial penalties on the former president’s business empire.

Davis, known for his combative approach and outspoken support of Trump, has used charged language to criticize the case as politically motivated. His recent comments come amid heightened tensions as Trump faces multiple civil and criminal cases in jurisdictions across the country. The former president has repeatedly claimed that the lawsuits are part of a coordinated effort by his political opponents to derail his presidential campaign.
