PALM BEACH, Fla. — President Donald Trump publicly chastised Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) on Sunday, accusing him of forsaking the America First agenda and labeling him a pitiful LOSER.
Trump called Massie a lightweight who is weak, ineffectual, and votes no on almost everything that is presented to him in a Truth Social post that was published Monday afternoon. Trump also criticized Massie of continuously voting against Republican principles.
Trump stated that despite his claims to the contrary, Congressman Thomas Massie of Kentucky is not MAGA. The truth is that MAGA doesn’t appreciate him, doesn’t know him, and doesn’t want him.
The recent U.S. military operation against Iran, which Trump characterized as a tremendous military accomplishment, prompted his criticism. He chastised Massie for failing to commend the operation and connected the congressman’s resistance to national security measures to his past opposition to spending and defense legislation.
Trump demands that Massie take on the GOP primary opponent.
Trump added, alluding to the Iran operation, “He is disrespectful to our great military not even acknowledging their brilliance and bravery in yesterday’s attack.” Massie ought to abandon his phony persona and begin prioritizing America, but he has no idea how to get there!
Additionally, Trump implied that Massie would vote against the Great, Big, Beautiful Bill, saying that if it failed, taxes would rise by 68 percent. He promised to run against Massie in the Republican primary in 2026.
Trump added, “The good news is that I’ll be out in Kentucky campaigning really hard and we’ll have a wonderful American Patriot running against him.”
Massie, who has served in the 4th District of Kentucky since 2012, is intimately linked to libertarian and fiscal conservative issues and frequently votes against the wishes of the GOP leadership. He hasn’t officially addressed Trump’s statement yet.
The president’s reaction follows his increasing frustration with Massie’s persistent disobedience of Trump’s policies and his continued influence on Republican primaries around the country in the run-up to the 2026 midterm elections.
