Trump Says Musk Is ‘Off the Rails’ With America Party Effort

Following Elon Musk’s announcement that he was forming a new political party in the midst of an ongoing disagreement with the president, President Trump attacked Musk on Sunday night, calling him insane.

On Sunday night, Mr. Trump said on Truth Social, “I am saddened to watch Elon Musk go completely off the rails, essentially becoming a TRAIN WRECK over the past five weeks.” Even though the Third Political Party has never been successful in the US, he still wants to form one.

The most recent rift in Mr. Musk’s relationship with Mr. Trump is his attempt to form a new political party, the America Party. The richest man in the world, Elon Musk, contributed hundreds of millions of dollars to help Mr. Trump win the presidency. In return, Mr. Trump gave Musk a broad role that included overseeing significant reductions in government contracts and staffing.

Last month, as Mr. Trump pushed his sweeping domestic policy plan through Congress, their strong relationship broke down in a public display. The bill, which is expected to increase the national debt by trillions, was denounced by Mr. Musk as a repulsive obscenity. Although he has provided few information about his new political party, he has stated that he would back primary challengers against any Republican who supported the law, which was enacted with nearly universal Republican support.

Mr. Musk wrote on X on Sunday that while supporting a presidential candidate is still possible, the House and Senate will be the main emphasis for the upcoming year.

Additionally, Mr. Trump has threatened to revoke billions of dollars in tax breaks and federal contracts for Mr. Musk’s businesses.
