Trump Uses Cabinet Meeting to Vent About Epstein, Putin and Powell

During Tuesday’s semi-regular cabinet meeting extravaganza, President Trump used the occasion to vent about some of the several issues that were bothering him.

For 104 minutes, it continued like a whirlwind of emotions, with his demeanor shifting from splenetic and grumpy to cheerful and humorous. Before abruptly shifting the topic to the White House d cor, the president voiced gripe after grievance.

As Mr. Trump answered questions, serious subjects like Gaza, Ukraine, and tariffs came up, but the main goal of the part of the meeting that was open to reporters seemed to be giving Mr. Trump an opportunity to speak.

He stated early on that having a corrupt media makes it difficult to create a truly successful nation.

He was still upset over CNN and The New York Times’ weeks-old overreporting of a Defense Intelligence Agency early assessment that differed from Mr. Trump’s claim that the strikes he authorized on Iran had destroyed that nation’s nuclear sites. Mr. Trump cited specific television episodes and declared that one reporter should be fired.

Additionally, he was angry at Russian President Vladimir V. Putin for intensifying his attacks on Ukraine in spite of Mr. Trump’s demands for an end to the conflict. Mr. Trump stated, “If you want to know the truth, we get a lot of bullshit thrown at us by Putin.” He is always so kind to us, yet it is ultimately pointless.

He said, “I don’t know,” in response to a reporter who asked who had issued the order to halt the flow of arms to Ukraine, which Mr. Trump abruptly revoked on Monday. Would you mind telling me? He wouldn’t go into detail.
