Two Juveniles Arrested for Robbery at Claymont Store


Claymont, DEx- Delaware State Police have detained two juveniles, aged 12 and 14, regarding a robbery in the Food Lion parking lot in Claymont. The incident occurred on October 3 at approximately 7:52 p.m.

Three suspects approached a 78-year-old woman near the cart return area, attempting to take her purse. During the ensuing struggle, the purse’s contents were spilled, and a key fob was taken before the suspects fled. The victim was uninjured.

Descriptions identified the suspects as black juvenile males, with two in dark clothing and one in a light hoodie. Investigators later identified two of the suspects as the juveniles arrested.


The 12-year-old was taken into custody on Monday, facing charges including Robbery First Degree and Conspiracy Second Degree. The 14-year-old was arrested Tuesday and similarly charged, with different bail conditions due to his age. Authorities continue to investigate and request information from the public regarding the incident.
