Two men arrested in Bronx home as investigation into fatal assault continues

New York’s BronxAfter police reacted to a violent disturbance at a property on Throgs Neck Expressway that resulted in one man’s death, two men were taken into custody on charges of assault and possession of firearms on Saturday evening.

At at 6:10 p.m. on November 30, officers from the 45th Precinct received a complaint about an assault in progress and were dispatched to 1022 Throgs Neck Expressway. Authorities found Kristopher Samaroo, 30, suffering from severe physical trauma. After being sent to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, Samaroo was declared deceased.

Two people living in the same house were taken into custody later that night, at approximately 9:30 p.m., in relation to the ongoing investigation. Both Bronx residents Edwin Nina, 39, and Omar Lamoni, 43, were charged with second-degree assault. Nina is also accused of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Lamoni was also accused of jeopardizing a child’s wellbeing.

No charges have been brought in connection with the deadly assault, and authorities have not revealed the information that would link the arrests to Samaroo’s demise.
