DUQUESNE, PA.In relation to a double shooting in Duquesne that claimed the life of a 23-year-old woman and injured a man, authorities have charged two suspects.
The incident happened early on October 4 inside a house on the 1000 block of Orchard Park Avenue, according to the Allegheny County Police Department. Niejah Hill, 23, was discovered dead at the scene by responders. The identify of the adult male victim has not been made public. He was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
Investigators discovered that someone had shot the victims several times after breaking in through an unsecured window. The alleged shooter was identified by detectives as John Perry, 18, of Duquesne. Additionally, police discovered evidence that connected Perry to Daemond Artemus, a 17-year-old who reportedly plotted with Perry to attack the male victim. Due to unrelated homicide accusations, Artemus is presently being held in the Allegheny County Jail.
After Duquesne Police requested assistance, the Homicide Unit of the Allegheny County Police Department took up the case and carried out the investigation.
