NJ’s Hamilton TownshipTwo men from Mays Landing have been charged after the Township of Hamilton Police Department wrapped up a months-long investigation into a string of thefts and burglaries.
On November 25, 2024, Thomas Turner, 49, and Joseph Stansberry, 39, were taken into custody at Mays Landing with the help of the New Jersey State Police Fugitive Task Force. The charges came after a spate of burglaries that were recorded in Hamilton Township’s Weymouth neighborhood starting in the late summer and lasting until the fall.
Three counts of burglary, four counts of theft, receiving stolen property, unauthorized possession of a weapon, and being a specific person not to possess a weapon are among the charges against Stansberry.
Among the allegations against Turner include receiving stolen goods, unlawfully possessing a firearm, possessing a pistol, possessing hollow point ammunition, possessing a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and being a specific person not to possess a weapon.
As the investigation comes to a close, both suspects are being detained at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
Following months of unrest in Hamilton Township due to a series of burglaries, the arrests provide closure.
