NJ’s UNION To commemorate the life of 20-year-old Jayden Reyes, who lost his fight with a rare cancer after a valiant effort, a community fundraising has been started. As of Tuesday, Sara Henriques’ GoFundMe campaign, which was started on behalf of Jayden’s mother, Arisai Cotto, has raised $5,870 of its $10,000 target.
Remembered for his passion for camping, fishing, building Legos, playing video games, and going on new adventures, Jayden had been battling cancer since 2021. Henriques said in the fundraising description that Jayden’s life, despite its tragically short duration, was full with love, memories, and a growing faith.
In order to enable Jayden’s family to offer him a farewell that honors his memory and his steadfast spirit, the effort aims to cover funeral and burial costs. The service will take place in Union, New Jersey, on December 8, 2024.
Ninety-one people have donated to the fundraiser, including Michael Martinetti, who gave the biggest gift to date—$500. The campaign’s first donor, Ernesto Diaz, contributed $200, and Michelle Martinez most recently contributed $50 to the rising sum.
The kindness and generosity that Jayden’s family has received during this trying time has been acknowledged. The community is still supporting the Reyes family during their tragedy, therefore the campaign is still going strong.
To help remember a Union man who died too young at the age of 20, donations are flooding in.
