A Draper woman is currently in custody and is being charged with a first-degree felony attempted murder. According to the police, she stabbed a woman at least eight times during a dispute that occurred in her apartment.

Just after midnight on Saturday, September 14, first responders allegedly discovered Raykietta Singer, 23, at an apartment complex located near 450 East and 12200 South, with a “substantial quantity” of blood smeared on her clothing.

According to law enforcement, the victim sustained injuries that necessitated immediate medical attention. She was transported to a hospital in the immediate vicinity for medical attention. Her condition is currently unclear as of Monday morning.

According to detectives from the Draper City Police Department, the victim accused Singer of attempting to “get with” a mutual acquaintance with whom the victim was in a relationship, which resulted in a physical altercation between the two.

According to reports, the singer informed detectives that she was acquainted with the individual in question, but she did not possess a genuine understanding of the victim. She had collected the two individuals the day prior to the alleged assault, as they required transportation to Salt Lake City. According to court documents, Singer stated that the couple was engaged in an argument regarding their past disagreements while driving.

Singer reportedly informed detectives that the victim and the man were both accusing each other of attempting to spy on each other at a concert later that evening. The group reportedly departed the concert early and returned to Singer’s apartment complex in Draper as a result of the passionate arguments. Singer extended an invitation to the two to reside in her residence, provided that they were “in good health and did not engage in arguments.”

Singer admitted to stabbing the victim only once, according to court documents. When detectives inquired about the multiple puncture wounds, she did not respond. Singer was also discovered to have visible lacerations on her neck, which are suspected to have been caused by the victim’s nails, according to the police. Singer also sustained a minor cut on one of her digits, which she suspected was caused by the knife.

Singer was subsequently apprehended on the aforementioned allegations. She has been ordered to be detained without parole until a pretrial hearing.
