Veterans Day turns violent in D.C. with two men shot in separate incidents


WASHINGTON, D.C. — Two men were injured in separate shootings in Northwest D.C. on Monday, turning Veterans Day into a scene of violence, according to police.

The first shooting occurred during an attempted robbery in the unit block of O Street NW. Police say a man was shot and transported to a nearby hospital, where he is expected to recover.

In a second incident, a man was shot in the 400 block of Kennedy Street NW. He was also taken to a hospital for treatment, with no details yet on his condition.
