Virginia Weather This Weekend: Scattered Showers Thursday, Sunny Friday, and a Cold Start to March

Annandale, Virginia The weather in Virginia will change over the next several days, with pleasant temperatures on Friday and a chilly weekend. Sunnier skies will return Thursday after sporadic showers, although blustery weather could be caused by powerful wind gusts.

The National Weather Service predicts that Friday will be primarily sunny with a high of about 56 degrees Fahrenheit. Northwest winds will be as high as 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. With largely cloudy sky, temperatures will dip to 41 degrees Fahrenheit by Friday night.

With highs close to 60 degrees Fahrenheit, Saturday is predicted to stay partly sunny. But Saturday night will see a sharp drop in temperature, with a low of 25 F. Highs on Sunday will only reach 39 degrees Fahrenheit, while overnight lows will drop to 23 degrees.

Monday will be sunny but cold as March gets underway, with highs of about 43 degrees Fahrenheit. Temperatures will slightly increase to 56 F on Tuesday. Nonetheless, there is an 80% chance that showers will persist into Wednesday, and rain is predicted to return Tuesday evening.

Early next week, drivers should be ready for possibly icy roadways. Because of the substantial temperature fluctuations, residents should also wear layers. For the most recent weather updates, follow the local forecasts.
