Volodymyr Zelensky Snaps Back at the U.S., Trump: We’re Not Here to Sit and Listen!

In the latest episode of Who’s Got the Most Power Moves in Global Politics, Volodymyr Zelensky just served up a not-so-subtle reminder to the U.S. that Ukraine is a sovereign country—not a sidekick taking orders.

A sidekick that has been fully funded by the west and the United States.

Since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the United States has provided substantial support to Ukraine, totaling approximately $175 billion in aid. This assistance includes around $106 billion directed to the Ukrainian government, encompassing military, financial, and humanitarian support.

The military aid component is significant, with the U.S. committing more than $54.2 billion in security assistance as of July 2024. This support has been crucial in bolstering Ukraine’s defense capabilities against ongoing aggression.

In addition to military aid, the U.S. has provided over $23 billion in humanitarian and economic assistance through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) since July 2023. This includes $2.8 billion specifically allocated for humanitarian aid, supporting displaced Ukrainians and addressing critical needs arising from the conflict.
