New York’s Staten Island.During a flash mob at Midland Beach Splaza on Friday, November 29, more than 200 supporters of President-elect Donald Trump performed his characteristic dance to the song “YMCA” by The Village People.

The Staten Island Republican Party hosted the event, which urged attendees to shake off their Thanksgiving turkeys with the country’s most popular dance.

Participants hoisted Trump flags, formed a conga line, and fought for Trump figurines and trash can awards.

Vito Fossella, the president of Staten Island Borough, who attended the event, said, “The dance has taken on a life of itself.”

The Trump Dance, which is typified by air punches and arrhythmic hip sways, became well-known during Trump’s campaign and has since been imitated by followers and professional athletes all around the country.

The dance’s widespread appeal among Trump’s followers was reflected in the flash mob’s flier, which called it a national sensation.
