When Michigan players placed their team flag on the Ohio State emblem at middle on Saturday following Michigan’s victory over Ohio State, a brawl broke out on the field. Players from both teams got into a violent brawl as a result of the provocative gesture.
According to a statement released by Ohio State police after the game, officials from many law enforcement agencies helped break up a fight that broke out on the field. Several officers from Michigan and Ohio used pepper spray during the altercation. As the primary agency for games, OSUPD will keep looking into the matter.
Social media users posted videos of the tumultuous situation, including one from onlooker @RCali21, who claimed to have been sprayed during the altercation.
While the investigation is ongoing, police have not yet identified the individuals involved or indicated whether any arrests or disciplinary measures would be taken.
