Without a precise choice, the problem has produced categories that cover a wide variety of racial groups, such as Hispanic, or geographic and ethnic groups, such as Middle Eastern and North African. According to a recent report on Zohran Mamdani, the mayoral candidate for New York, marking himself as Asian and African American on his college application, people with complicated immigration histories may also feel stuck.
