After a civil court in Florida judged her liable for her husband’s murder inside their Tarpon Springs estate, the wife of a well-known Florida physician was forced to pay his children a total of two hundred million dollars.
This decision came more than ten years after the doctor’s death.
A kidney expert named Dr. Steven Schwartz, who was 74 years old at the time of his death, was discovered dead in his garage in May of 2014.He had been shot twice.
Reportedly, his wife, Rebecca Schwartz, who is 64 years old, called the police and stated that there had been a break-in at the residence.
Rebecca Schwartz was found to have “unlawfully and intentionally killed, or participated in procuring the death” of Steven Schwartz by a civil court in the context of a wrongful death case.
This is despite the fact that no one has ever been legally charged with the murder of the doctor.
In addition, the court ordered Rebecca Schwartz to pay the three children of the doctor a total of $200 million; however, it is quite likely that they will only receive between $10 and $20 million.
As far as the children’s attorney, Wil Florin is concerned, the motivation is always money.
According to Florin, Rebecca Schwartz is accused of stealing money from her husband over the course of several years, then distributing the money to her children and establishing a marijuana grow house with her handyman.
Reportedly, Steven Schwartz discovered the theft and threatened to divorce her, leaving her with nothing. He ultimately went through with the divorce.
“She was caught red-handed, embezzling again by buying a Verizon Wireless store in Wisconsin for one of her sons from a previous marriage, and this time it was enough,” Florin stated. “And as he left for work at the hospital to do his rounds, he was going down the stairs and, according to the forensic evidence, was shot twice in the head.”
Rebecca Schwartz was never charged with the crime; nevertheless, the handyman was deported to Albania after entering a guilty plea to one count of being an accessory to the murder during the investigation.
The DNA of the handyman was discovered on Steven Schwartz’s shirt, and neither his alibi nor the records from his smartphone were consistent with each other.

“The handyman that was later convicted of [being] an accessory after the fact was sent to the scene to clean up the mess, take the hard drive of the surveillance system, take a butcher knife and try to retrieve the bullets,” Florin stated.
As of Thursday night, Rebecca Schwartz’s counsel had not yet provided a response to representatives of the media following the verdict.
