President-elect Donald Trump announced Tuesday that he had selected former White House Cabinet Secretary William “Bill” McGinley as the new White House Counsel.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump announced McGinley as his pick for White House Counsel, praising him as a “smart and tenacious lawyer” committed to advancing the “America First” agenda. Trump highlighted McGinley’s past role as White House Cabinet Secretary and his work on election integrity.

“I am pleased to announce that William Joseph McGinley will serve as my White House Counsel. Bill is a smart and tenacious lawyer who will help me advance our America First agenda while fighting for election integrity and against the weaponization of law enforcement,” Trump said. “He served in my first term as White House Cabinet Secretary and played a major role in our election victory as the RNC’s Outside Counsel for Election Integrity.”

The selection marks another addition to Trump’s Cabinet. Trump said that former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe is his choice to lead the CIA in his second term. In a statement on Truth Social, Trump praised Ratcliffe’s recent achievements and described him as a “fearless advocate” for America’s interests.

Trump’s recent picks for key administration roles include prominent Republicans such as South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem as Secretary of Homeland Security. He has also tapped House GOP Conference Chair Elise Stefanik for United Nations Ambassador, former New York Congressman Lee Zeldin to head the Environmental Protection Agency and campaign manager Susie Wiles as Chief of Staff.
