WILMINGTON, Del. — Authorities said Thursday that 28-year-old Thomas Lowe has been taken into custody by Delaware State Police in relation to an armed robbery that occurred at a Royal Farms shop on Kirkwood Highway last month.
At at 9:27 p.m. on December 21, 2024, a man who was later identified as Lowe allegedly tried to flee the store without paying after hiding products. When staff members confronted him at the store’s exit, Lowe allegedly threatened them with a firearm before escaping in a blue vehicle driven by an unnamed accomplice, according to police.
Detectives from Troop 2 Robbery Unit found Lowe to be the suspect after conducting an investigation, and they were able to secure an arrest warrant for him. Detectives in Wilmington tracked down and safely arrested Lowe on January 2, 2025.
Lowe was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 2 on a felony charge of first-degree robbery. He posted a $60,000 cash bond and was remanded to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution.
