Winter Storm Watch Issued for North Jersey: Heavy Snow, Rain, and High Winds Expected

North Jersey Forecasters have issued a Winter Storm Watch for North Jersey, warning of strong winds, snow, and heavy rain expected to affect the area during the weekend.

It is predicted that rain will start late Friday evening and last through Saturday before turning to snow on Sunday. Forecasters anticipate 4 to 6 inches of snowfall along with wind gusts of up to 50 mph.

Local authorities have encouraged drivers to postpone or avoid travel if at all possible and warned them to anticipate dangerous road conditions. It is advised that those who must travel take additional time and be careful.

Parking restrictions will be implemented on emergency snow routes, so residents are urged to park their cars off the road and pay attention to these routes. Vehicles that break these rules run the danger of being fined or perhaps impounded.

By texting OUT to 4PSEG (47734), calling 1-800-436-PSEG (7734), or using the utility’s website and mobile app, customers can report power outages directly to PSE&G.

Officials warn residents to brace for harsh winter weather as the approaching storm threatens to disrupt power and travel throughout North Jersey.
