Woman fatally struck by SUV while walking dog in Manassas


MANASSAS, VA

— A 76-year-old woman was killed Tuesday night after being struck by an SUV while walking her dog along Hoadly Road in Prince William County, police said.

The incident occurred just before 10 p.m. near the intersection of Hoadly Road and Token Valley Road. Officers arrived on scene to find that Son Ae Willis of Manassas had been hit by a vehicle while attempting to cross the road.

Police said a 16-year-old boy was driving a westbound SUV when he struck Willis as she crossed Hoadly Road toward Classic Oaks Circle. There is no crosswalk at the location of the crash, investigators noted.

Willis died at the scene. Her dog was not injured. The teen driver was unhurt, according to the Prince William County Police Department.


Police ask witnesses to come forward

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing. No charges have been announced, and authorities have not said whether speed or visibility were factors.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact the Prince William County Police Department as they continue to collect information.
