Woodbridge man charged with assaulting officer, drug possession

Woodbridge, Virginia According to authorities, a 32-year-old male was taken into custody early on Thursday morning after attacking a police officer during a disturbance at a Woodbridge home.

At 4:48 a.m. on November 30, officers were called to the 13400 block of Kerrydale Road in response to a report of an inebriated person. When they arrived, they discovered a man—later identified as Johnny Francisco Flores Hernandez—hanging partially out of a window on the second floor.

Flores Hernandez bit one of the officers and actively resisted when they tried to arrest him. Eventually, he was restrained and arrested without any more problems.

Police found that Flores Hernandez had suspected illegal narcotics in his possession during the inquiry. Despite minor injuries, the injured officer did not need to be admitted to the hospital.

Flores Hernandez faces charges of unlawful narcotics possession, disorderly conduct, and malicious injury of a law enforcement official. A court date is still pending, and he is being held without bond.
