Wyoming Winter Storm Warning Issued for Teton, Gros Ventre Mountains

Jackson, why Through Monday morning, a major winter storm is predicted to deliver strong winds and a lot of snow to the Teton and Gros Ventre Mountains.

The Riverton National Weather Service reports that a Winter Storm Warning is in force through Monday at 11 a.m. MST. Between 7 and 14 inches of snow are expected to fall overall, with higher elevations in the Teton Mountains receiving between 18 and 28 inches. Snow could blow and drift due to wind gusts of up to 40 mph.

Conditions for travel will be dangerous, especially across Teton and Togwotee Passes, where visibility may be significantly diminished. It is recommended that drivers exercise caution, slow down, and keep emergency supplies including food, water, and a torch on hand.
