These amazing young men are sweeping the country with their exceptional moves representing Clearwater as the Young Kings Hierarchy or just YKH, for short.
The group is a community-based step team, comprised of young males ages 10 – 14. The program provides a positive program of brotherhood, mentorship and step.
Stepping or step-dancing is a form of percussive dance in which the participant’s entire body is used as an instrument to produce complex rhythms and sounds through a mixture of footsteps, spoken word, and hand claps.
The video shows the Young Kings Hierarchy performing in the middle of Times Square promoting Zenni Optical.
YKH took first place at the Youth Step USA National Middle School Step Competition (Boys Division) hosted this past weekend in Newark, New Jersey.
YKH scored 394 points out of 400 – which was the highest score of the weekend out of both competitions of High school & Middle school participants. Their coaches also received Coaches of the Year awards as well.
They not only took first place in the recent New Jersey competition but their coaches also received accolades and a first-place award as well!
