Virginia Siblings' Lemonade Stand Robbed by Thief in Broad Daylight Authorities Looking for Suspect

A brother and sister from southeast Virginia recently had a disappointing day when a thief stole their money jar while the siblings were selling lemonade.

Last week, a suspect was captured on camera stealing the entire day’s profit from children outside their home in Chesapeake, a city located about 20 miles southeast of Virginia Beach.

A theft occurred shortly before noon on August 14, according to Officer Leo C. Kosinsk of the Chesapeake Police Department, who is currently investigating the case. Prior to the incident, Kosinski confirmed that a silver Toyota four-door sedan arrived near the stand and the individual in question exited the vehicle.

A video captures the suspect nonchalantly approaching the stand and swiftly grabbing the money jar.

According to Rebecca Caldwell, a 10-year-old girl, she and her brother, Josh, were running their stand when an individual suddenly snatched the jar containing their earnings while she was in the middle of pouring him a glass of lemonade.

“We already got $40. It seemed pretty good, and then the guy came,” the girl told the outlet. “He acted really nice. He was just saying, like, ‘Nice, y’all are doing a lemonade stand.’ And then he was getting pretty close, but my back was turned so I didn’t really realize.”

According to authorities, the parents of the children, Annetta and Josh Caldwell, reported an incident where a man stole money from their young entrepreneurs.

The suspect was described by the police as a Caucasian male in his 30s, sporting a goatee and tattoos.
