Stafford, Virginia. After causing a collision on Warrenton Road while driving under the influence and without a valid license, a 33-year-old Woodbridge man was taken into custody Sunday morning, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called to a collision between a Volvo and a Toyota near the intersection of Warrenton Road and the northbound I-95 exit ramp at around 7:45 a.m. on December 8. When the suspect’s Toyota entered the intersection, authorities say the Volvo had the green light as it was leaving the highway. The Volvo driver made an unsuccessful attempt to brake in order to escape the collision.

Thankfully, there were no reported injuries. The Toyota driver, however, acknowledged to having seven beers prior to driving, and officers observed indications of impairment. After more research, it was discovered that there were only two unopened beer bottles out of 24 open ones in the back seat of his car.

The motorist was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and driving without a license, despite the fact that he did not have a legal license. He is being held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail after being taken there.
