North Jersey man found dead in apartment was murdered, police say




North Bergen, New Jersey. The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office said Thursday that investigators are looking into the death of a 48-year-old man who was discovered unconscious in a North Bergen home earlier this week.

Just before 3:30 p.m. on Monday, December 9, Juan Moyet of North Bergen was found inside a second-floor apartment at 9028 Palisade Plaza. At 3:50 p.m., Moyet was discovered deceased by responding North Bergen Police Department officers, and he was declared dead on the spot.

During a post-mortem examination on Wednesday, the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office concluded that the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head, despite the initial report indicating an apparent head injury. A homicide has been determined as the cause of death.

The matter is presently being investigated by the North Bergen Police Department and the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office is asking anyone with information regarding Moyet’s passing to get in touch. The inquiry is still under progress.
