Silver Spring suspect charged in deadly DC shooting

Washington, DC Police said Wednesday that a 21-year-old male from Maryland has been taken into custody in relation to the shooting death of Jhonatan Guzman Hernandez in Northwest Washington, DC, almost two years ago.

Officers from the Third District responded to reports of shooting in the 1400 block of Clifton Street NW on December 30, 2022, at around 2:24 a.m. Officers searched the neighborhood and found Hernandez, 21, with what appeared to be gunshot wounds in the back alley of the 2400 block of 15th Street NW. His body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner after DC Fire and EMS declared him deceased at the scene.

Alfred Steven Paulino-Del Rosario, 21, of Silver Spring, Maryland, was taken into custody by the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF) on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. Following a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, he was taken to the Homicide Branch and charged with second-degree murder while armed.
