Maryland woman credits late father for $50,000 Pick 5 lottery win

TIMONIUM, M.D. Glo, a Maryland lottery player, thinks her $50,000 Pick 5 win might have been influenced by her late father. Motivated after accidentally spotting a license plate with her father’s birthday on it, Glo bought the ticket that won her the big reward.

After almost 40 years of lottery gaming, the Timonium resident usually prefers Multi-Match tickets but sometimes tries Pick 5. After noticing the significant license plate, she bought her winning ticket at the Marathon station on York Road in Lutherville during a routine stop.

A few weeks later, Glo found out she had won $50,000 in the evening drawing on November 1st while scanning tickets with her sister. She described how she rushed home to tell her family the news after celebrating with her sister, saying, “I was stunned.”

Glo intends to save money for her children’s future and remodel her house with the earnings. “Hopefully, I’ll win again, God willing, for even more, but either way, I’m blessed,” she said, expressing her thanks for the victory and her resolve to continue playing.

In addition, a $500 lottery bonus will be given to the Marathon station that sold the winning ticket.
