15-year-old Abused by Teacher in California; Perpetrator Arrested after Police Busted Recorded Abuse Video

A middle school teacher in California faces criminal charges following the alleged discovery of a video showing her engaging in sexual relations with a former adolescent student by police working on another case.

Investigators from the Soledad Police Department detained 34-year-old Marina Ramirez Rico on Monday, September 10, following charges that she had sexual relations with a male former pupil, who was 15 years old, according to a press release from the department.

According to the press release, investigators allegedly stumbled upon a video of the two engaging in sexual activity while working on another case.

According to local outlets KSBW and ABC 13, police claimed to be conducting an alleged firearms investigation when they executed a search warrant at Rico’s residence.

Rico is accused of sexually abusing a youngster at Soledad High School when the victim was a student there.

The police have confirmed that Rico has taken a teaching position at Soledad’s Main Street Middle School.

The school administration was promptly informed by the detectives. Police said that “the district took precautionary measures to ensure the safety of students.” in their statement.

According to the police, “further evidence of that crime” was discovered during the arrest of Rico by the detectives.

Authorities stated she faces many counts of having sexual relations with a juvenile when she was transported to Monterey County Jail.

According to KSBW’s reporting from online jail records, she is facing five counts of having sexual relations with a minor. She posted $50,000 bond and was freed from jail.

According to the superintendent of the Soledad Unified School District, who spoke with the local news station KION, Rico was put on administrative leave following her arrest.
