Man Busted Trying to Reportedly Fly with Meth in Luggage



Williamson County, IL – A man was arrested at Veterans Airport in Southern Illinois on October 29 after TSA agents reportedly found methamphetamine in his checked luggage, authorities said.

Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the incident around 6:30 a.m., where they discovered that TSA agents had allegedly uncovered 18 grams of methamphetamine, along with cannabis and drug paraphernalia, in the luggage of Derrick D. Thompson. Thompson now faces a Class 2 felony charge for possession of methamphetamine.

Following his arrest, Thompson was transported to the Williamson County Jail and remains in custody.
