Baltimore police investigate fatal shooting that leaves one dead, another injured


BALTIMORE, Md. — A shooting in Northeast Baltimore left one man dead and another injured on Saturday evening, according to police.

Around 6:33 p.m. officers from the Northeast District were patrolling the 5900 block of Belair Road when they heard gunshots coming from nearby on the 4200 block of Powell Avenue. Responding to the scene, officers found a 46-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Shortly after, a second victim, a 24-year-old man, arrived at a hospital with multiple gunshot wounds to his back. Investigators determined that he, too, had been shot on Powell Avenue. The younger victim is currently in stable condition.
