Arrest made in Monroe Township Little League arson case


MONROE TOWNSHIP, N.J. — A man has been arrested in connection with an arson that damaged two storage sheds at the Monroe Township Little League Complex in September, according to the Monroe Township Police Department.

The fire occurred on September 3, 2024, at around 1:26 a.m. when Monroe Township police responded to reports of a blaze at the Little League Complex located at 408 Church Street. Two storage sheds containing Little League equipment were severely damaged. Following an investigation, the fire marshal determined that the cause was arson.

The case was investigated by the Monroe Township Detective Bureau, with assistance from Patrol Platoon “B.” Investigators identified Anthony Lindsey, a 43-year-old resident of Woodstown, as a suspect. After gathering sufficient evidence, authorities charged Lindsey with arson and criminal mischief, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.


On November 4, the U.S. Marshals Service’s NY/NJ Regional Task Force apprehended Lindsey. He was subsequently taken to Salem County Jail, where he awaits further legal proceedings.

Monroe Township Police remind the public that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
