BALTIMORE, MD — A 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in Baltimore’s Central District in September, according to the Baltimore Police Department.
Homicide detectives allege that Quontay Spinks, of Washington, Maryland, shot and killed 36-year-old Antonio Peoples on September 14 in the 700 block of Aliceanna Street. Officers responding to reports of gunfire around 11:53 p.m. that night found Peoples suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly afterward.
Spinks was apprehended on November 1 by the Warrant Apprehension Taskforce in Washington, D.C., and subsequently transported to Baltimore’s Central Booking Intake Facility. He faces charges of first-degree murder in connection with the killing.
Police have not disclosed further details about the motive or circumstances surrounding the shooting.
