Burglars sought after ransacking apartment in Northwest D.C.


WASHINGTON, D.C. — Suspects who allegedly broke into a Northwest Washington apartment in the early hours of Saturday, October 26, are being sought by investigators, according to officials.

The incident occurred around 2:20 a.m. in the 700 block of Peabody Street, NW. Police reported that the suspects forced their way in through a basement door before ransacking the apartment and stealing various items.

Nearby surveillance cameras captured images of at least one suspect, and authorities have released a photo to aid in identifying those involved. Officials are asking the public for assistance in locating the individuals responsible.


Anyone with information about the incident or who recognizes the suspect in the image is urged to avoid direct confrontation and instead contact police at (202) 727-9099 or anonymously text tips to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.

The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case.
