Jackson, New Jersey The Jackson Township Council’s annual reorganization meeting on Thursday marked the beginning of its 2025 term. Key Ocean County Republicans, including former Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli, who is vying for governor of New Jersey in 2025, attended the gathering.
Mordechai Burnstein, Nino Borrelli, and Giuseppe Palmeri, the winners of the 2025 election, were sworn in to begin the conference. When Marty Flemming, the owner of a hardware store in Jackson, resigned, Burnstein was brought in to cover the void.
Burnstein praised the people who elected him to office in November, as well as Mayor Michael Reina and the Jackson Township Council, for believing he could do the job. Burnstein is Jackson’s first elected Orthodox Jewish person to hold a place on the city’s council.
Nino Borrelli also expressed gratitude to the residents for helping him win the election. Additionally, he was a Republican incumbent who has dedicated his term to improving the township’s commercial and recreational facilities and fighting overdevelopment.
Giuseppe Palmeri, a former president of the Jackson School District Board, was also sworn in on Thursday. He thanked Jackson voters and his family for supporting him and enabling him to move from the school board to the municipal council.
In two unanimous council votes, Burnstein was chosen to be the council’s vice president and Jennifer Kuhn was re-elected as the council’s president.
Burnstein was sworn in by former Assemblyman Ciattarelli. Additionally present were Ocean County Commissioners Frank Sadeghi, Ginny Haines, the board’s elder member, Senator Owen Henry, and Assemblymen Greg McGuckin and Alex Sauickie.
Sauckie swore in his old council colleague Borrelli, while Commissioner Sadeghi swore in Ms. Kuhn for a second term as council president.
Mike Crispi, the Trump surrogate from New Jersey, attended the conference as well.
