Motorcyclist killed in multi-vehicle crash in Northeast Philadelphia


PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — A 22-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a multi-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in the city’s 7th District. The incident occurred around 3:32 p.m. at the intersection of Bustleton Avenue and Tomlinson Road, according to police.

The motorcyclist, who was traveling northbound at a high speed, collided with a vehicle making a left turn onto Tomlinson Road from the southbound lane, authorities said. The impact of the collision resulted in two additional vehicles striking the impacted car from behind.

Medics transported the motorcyclist to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:24 p.m. The victim’s identity has not been released.


No other injuries were reported, police confirmed. Investigators from the department’s Crash Investigation Division (C.I.D.) remained on the scene as of Friday evening.

The intersection remained secured while officers assessed the crash and cleared the involved vehicles.
