Charles County Lottery Player Wins $50,000 Powerball Prize

Waldorf, Maryland In the October 19 drawing, a Charles County resident won $50,000 in the third-tier Powerball by selecting numbers that corresponded to her family members’ ages. This is Waldorf’s second third-tier Powerball victory in the last seven days.

The grandmother who won used the ages of her children, siblings, and a granddaughter to show how shocked she was to win. She said that her unexpected triumph resulted from the numbers matching the Powerball and four out of five. Before she found out she had won, the ticket had been left unchecked for more than a month.

The federal government employee from Southern Maryland aims to keep playing in the hopes of winning the entire jackpot and will use her windfall to pay her debts. As her family members get older, she is thinking about changing the numbers every year, but she isn’t sure if she will stick with the same figures the next year.

The winning ticket was purchased in Charles County at Waldorf Food Mart Citgo, which is situated at 11901 Business Park Drive.
